Fulton became an activist for change in the community after the shooting an killing of her 17-year-old son in 2012. Since then she has dedicated herself to social change. She’s become a symbol of inspiration for as she speaks against police brutality and talks with many parents all over the United States.
Fulton attended school at Florida Memorial University where she graduated with a degree in English. The Miami native worked 25 years Miami-Dade County Housing Development Agency and is a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Miami Gardens.
In addition to being a spokesperson against police brutality, she leads the Trayvon Martin Foundation and has created the Circle of Mothers program as a way to strengthen and support women of have lost a child.
As expected, she received a warm welcome from her fellow Delta Sigma Theta sisters all over the internet.
